Bronze-purple foliage emerges in the spring developing a plant up to 24" high. During late summer into fall, bottlebrush spikes on 4' tall stems open as rich mauve-pink colored flowers brightening to white as they age. Good plant for part-shade to shade areas with average to consistent moisture. 4-5' h x 30" w. Z 4-8.

Native. This native has creamy-white, 1-2' flower spikes during early summer. Deeply cut, dark green leaves up to 2' long. 4-6' ht. Z 3-8.

A compact variety with chocolate colored leaves that bears spikes of white flowers. This little gem remains ornamental for 2-3 weeks in late summer. 4' high by 2' wide. Z 4-8.

Native. Deciduous, erect-arching, 12-30" fronds. Spreads by short-creeping rhizomes. Features finely-textured fronds divided into finger-like projections and reddish-brown to black stems. Prefers moist but well-drained soil and light shade. Z 2-8.

Vibrant violet-purple flowers with deep rose-pink calyxes are presented on strong, upright stems from midsummer to early fall. They add a bright spot of color in the landscape late in the season when many other plants are finished blooming. Provide a sunny site with low to average moisture. Can cut back in midseason to freshen the plant and produce additional blooms. 3' h x 2' w. Z 6-9.
